Tours for intellectually curious travelers

I used to be writer and I devote a lot of time to read & research on history & language. I am very serious about educational tourism that aim at introducing historical, cultural & language knowledge.

​

Tours are not simply about ferrying guests from point to point in a superficial way to take tons of selfies. I believe that great tour operators are someone inspirational that introduce deep cultural insights, and to facilitate cross-cultural understanding.

Responsible Tourism

I am keen traveler and I strongly believe in values of sustainable tourism. I value mutual respect between people highly and I respect other culture & language deeply.

​

Responsible travelers should help to protect local culture, language and especially nature when they travel. I expect guests to do so for my city. I reserve the rights not to take tours which contradict my values.

​

Tour group is advised to be small (1-2 adults at best) for deeper conversation.

​

Every guide has his own specialty, I am familiar with history, culture & language. But for instance I never run tours like art gallery / botanical tour as i'm not familiar with it. I always try to get deep into culture & languages, as I believe that learning about people is the most important part of travel experience.

I join tours too when I travel, but what i look for is not selfie opportunities, fixed itinerary or wikipedia style tour to tell me precise number like how high is the top 10 buildings in town. Some of these trivial information are not memorable and have very little to do with local life and the culture.

​

As a traveler I always find engaging in conversation & discussion with a knowledgeable local a far more important way to learn. Some topics are important, for instance how colonization shapes cultural identity, or in turn how history & cultural values shape languages and human behaviors (or vice versa), and many many other topics..... These are valuable information that makes me think and remember for a long time. This is also what the word "travel" means for me, it's something inspirational with lifelong impact on a traveler.
